Hi Dolls!
I'm in a hotel in downtown Chicago, watching American Dad, still in my pjs. I've had a bit of rough morning. I cried a whole enormous bunch, I took a rest and am still pulling myself together. Nothing is particularly wrong, I'm just going through a bit of a mourning process with how life has been so far. I'm seriously so ready to start having a life outside of my illnesses. I just am not quite sure how to get there. But I'm figuring and figuring, and eventually I'll get there.
Anyway my favorite blogger Kaelah, over at Little Chief Honeybee filled out this quiz and I'm following along.
1. What is the first thing you do when you wake up?
put on an old hoodie, go turn on the coffee maker, and pick out one of my favorite mugs. I am addicted to cute coffee mugs!
2. What is the 3rd picture on your phone? Share it!
Doves on the telephone lines in our backyard.
3. What TV show are you most excited about returning this Fall?
Homeland, Bob's Burgers, The Walking Dead.
4. What is something really popular that you secretly (or not so secretly) loathe?
So You Think You Can Dance, and The Voice. I feel like it's all just regurgitated nonsense.
5. Do you have any pets? Tell us about them! Bonus points for pictures.
Yes! --3 dogs
Isabelle is our crazy six year old shih tzu. She is the cutest little gal. She is the trouble maker of the bunch, but is so freaking sweet and has the funniest habits!
Cricket is our two year old whatchamacallit. We rescued her last August and she needed (and still needs) a lot of rehabilitation (she was abused as the first 7 months of her life). She looks like a fox and has the longest legs like a little fawn! She is so snuggly and kissy, and loves to play with the other girls. She smiles and is so happy and bouncy. Plus she is amazingly photogenic and loves the camera!
Amelia is our four year old black lab. She is the most sensitive, lean-y, bashful, funny, excitable, goofball on earth! She loves us so much and is so loyal to the other pups too. Her nickname is Gomer because she is just so silly. She loves to dance with us when music is on. We invite her to jump up on us and hold her paws and dance around the house. So cute!
6. If you could put together one outfit that represents you perfectly, what would it be?
Grey leggings, a cute pale peach puffy dress, some fun colored or patterned kitten heels, an oversized cozy sweater, and a green beenie.
7. What is your favorite adult beverage?
I can't drink currently (sucks!), but I love anything bourbon. Ronald infuses bourbon and he makes an old fashioned with apple-cinnamon infused bourbon, so yummy!
8. What is your favorite guilty pleasure?
Buying stacks of magazines at a time. I look so forward to reading them that I end up leaving them unread for months!
9. What are 3 positive words to describe you?
Strong, open, brave
10. What is your favorite Friday afternoon/evening activity?
Making something yummy for dinner, lighting too many candles in the living room, eating at the coffee table with Ronald and catching up on the weeks shows on DVR.
11. A day in the life: What does you typical day look like?
It really depends on how I feel day to day. But most days I wake around 6, have breakfast and catch up on emails and the news. I snuggle the pups and write a blog post, then I shower and get ready to go out. I usually leave the house around 9 and go wander around and then go to therapy or take myself to coffee. I go to the market to get fresh flowers or produce on the way home, and then take a nap (I seriously hate that I take naps, but I get so tired from the meds I'm on). I wake up and get a snack like greek yogurt, or some tea. And then Ronald comes home and we pick up some dinner and have some time to catch up on our days.
12. If you could live anywhere else in the world, where would it be?
Pacific Grove California. They have the coolest ocean front homes and I love the cloudy weather.
13. You've got a whole day to yourself...what will you do?
I would sit outside at a coffee shop and write for hours. I would go to a thrift store and look for some vintage goodness. I'd go home bake a cake or some homemade bread. I'd make some dinner and have a cocktail. Before bed I would light candles and take a bubble bath and then have some bedtime tea.
14. Dream job?
Being a published writer. Working for a non-profit. Or working to rehabilitate abused dogs.
15. Least favorite chore?
Folding laundry. Worst thing ever!
16. When do you most feel like a rock star?
When I'm being true to myself. When it's autumn and I'm writing. When Ronald kisses me.
17. What is something you are currently trying to improve within yourself?
I'm trying to become myself, for real. I hold back who I am so much and am afraid to step out and do what I want. No one ever told me it's hard work to be yourself, but it is. Every day I'm growing and that gives me hope.
