Meet Cricket!

This is our little Cricket! She is such a sweet girl. We adopted her yesterday on a whim and as soon as she kissed our noses we knew it was meant to be! She is a 6 month old who-knows-what and we think she has either been abused and/or neglected. It even looks like she has lost a part of her tail! She is a bit shy but has already bonded a lot with us and the other dogs.

She loves to just lay around and sleep, she also loves giving kisses. She doesn't understand how to play with toys and is really scratchy with some flea bites we think. We gave her a bath today with soothing puppy shampoo and put some flea medicine on her, I'm sure she will heal up soon. Tuesday we will take her to the vet to get a check up. She has been spayed, has all her shots, and is microchipped which is great.

Our girls are adjusting with her. They have been a bit annoyed and jealous, but the adjustment is going way better than I expected! A little gentle growling, playful barking and some funny Chewbacca sounds from them but no snapping or real aggressive behavior.

We think Cricket looks most like a dingo. :) But we really have no idea what kind of mix she is...I love her floppy ears, that her two front paws have speckled socks, and how she loves to smile. I know we will give her a good life and I'm so happy we found her. The adoption agency says she has been around for a while but no one wanted her because she seemed too shy and quiet. I'm glad we took a chance with her.

Have you ever adopted a pet? This is our first time. Any advice?

xx, C

  2. She's just too cute. We got our Mason from the humane society and it's one of the best things we've ever done. I couldn't imagine my life without him. He was very quite too, which was one of the reasons we got him. She'll warm up to you when she figures out that she's home now.
