Lisbon-ish

Hi Sweet,

I'm really loving the new blog design, it feels both vintage and modern which is what I've been looking for. I found the design here. What do you think of the new look?

Guess what?!?! We just found out Ronald and I are going to Lisbon in June! He won a spot to attend and speak at a conference there so the trip will be a mix of work and pleasure. We are thrilled! Saturday we are going to the book shop to pick up a travel guide and Portuguese dictionary. So excited!

This weekend we are headed to Las Vegas for some R&R (as well as some work). I'm packing my pretty dresses and petticoat but will probably get too shy and end up in a simple dress and hoodie most of the trip. I'm hoping to be brave because if there is one place to risk looking ridiculous it's Vegas!

While there I'm going to do some serious reading, homework, and maybe some picture taking. Oh and I'm rummaging a book idea around in my head that is pretty exciting and SO scary. We'll see...I'll also be drinking--please and thank you. Drinking will hopefully include some good whiskey as Ronald and I are going on a date to one of our favorite steakhouses on Monday night and they have a fantastic bar.

I have a few blog posts in the works which will include: fashion, puppy pics, reading lists, and some things I've been learning lately. So keep an eye out!

  1. Portugal, it sounds wonderful! Being able to travel is one of my favorite things in life, and "planning" for an upcoming trip is such a blast. Enjoy Vegas- we used to go once or twice a year but haven't been lately. I actually told J last week, hey we need to plan another trip out there. So much to see and do, and walking the streets- even alone- I always feel like I belong there!

  2. I love trip planning too but I also get so nervous. Even though we travel a lot I can't kick the nerves until I arrive. You should plan a trip to Vegas, I love it there!

  3. Lisbon is awesome, I've been twice to Portugal and loved it. Some of my faves are the Coach Museum in Belem, the number 27 tram, the zoo. We stayed at Baixa House apartments but I'm sure you'll get nice accommodation for the conference. You're gonna LOVE it. I'm the same as you with travel nerves. I'm okay when I'm there but worry all the time beforehand!!

    1. Awesome! Thanks for the info, I will check these places out for sure! We are staying in Baixa, about 5 miles from the conference which is in the city center. It will be nice to be in the older part of Lisbon!
